About Page 73

  • "Few theater companies have as impressive a record of championing emerging talent as PAGE 73."

    —TIME OUT NEW YORK

PAGE 73 is a Tony and Obie Award-winning company that launches the careers of playwrights by producing and developing work by writers who have not yet had an Off-Broadway premiere. Select premieres include MICHAEL R. JACKSON’s A STRANGE LOOP, a co-production with PLAYWRIGHTS HORIZONS that transferred to Broadway, winning the 2020 Pulitzer Prize for Drama and the 2022 Tony Award for Best Musical; CLARE BARRON’s YOU GOT OLDER (currently being revived at Cherry Lane Theater); JOHN J. CASWELL, JR.’s MAN CAVE; ZORA HOWARD’s STEW (Finalist for the 2021 Pulitzer Prize), and the NYC debuts of SAMUEL D. HUNTER, QUIARA ALEGRÍA HUDES, HEIDI SCHRECK, and more. View our full list of productions here.

In addition to production, PAGE 73 offers development opportunities through annual programs including our eight-member Writers Group, now in its 19th year, and the PAGE 73 Playwriting Fellowship, which has bolstered the careers of 23 playwrights–including SANAZ TOOSSI, C.A. JOHNSON, and HANSOL JUNG—before they received their Off-Broadway premieres. Altogether, PAGE 73 development programs and productions have supported more than 175 playwrights, and the number grows each season.

Each year, PAGE 73 meets the talented playwrights we work with through our free online application. Applications for the 2027 development programs are open here.

PAGE 73’s 2026 Gala honoring SAMUEL D. HUNTER will take place at Joe’s Pub on MON, APR 27. Click here for more information about tickets and tables.
